Background analysis of the climate in Qingdao

    Qingdao, located in the southern Shandong Peninsula and bordering on the Yellow Sea in the southeast, has a warm-temperate sub-humid monsoon climate. Under the direct regulation of marine environment, it takes on notable features of the marine climate: humid air, moderate temperature and four distinct seasons. Temperature recovers slowly in spring, over a month later than inland areas. Summer may be hot and rainy, but with an extreme high temperature of no more than 38 ℃, there is no intense heat, making Qingdao an ideal summer resort. Autumn days are sunny but cool, ad with little precipitation. Though there are gales and lasting low temperatures in winter, the weather is not bitterly cold. The warmest month is August, with an average temperature of 25℃; the coolest month is January, with an average of -0.5℃. The average annual precipitation is about 660 mm.
