Guilin is situated in the northwest of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, with the Nanling Mountains running along its northeast border. It has a humid mid-subtropical monsoon climate. The pleasant climate and the beautiful sceneries makes Guilin a charming place. It is said that "East or west, Guilin landscape is best!" and that "While snow is rare for years, flowers bloom in four seasons." The annual average temperature is about 19℃. Frost-free period is more than 300 days. The warmest weather occurs in July and August, with monthly average of about 28℃, even the extreme high is still below 39℃. The coolest months are January and February, with temperatures averaging 8-9℃, and the average low is still no less than 5℃. However, a sub-zero of -3℃ to -4℃ has also been recorded. Light snow occurs each year, but the snow time won't be long. Guilin has abundant rainfall, with annual precipitation up to 1,900-2,000. The wettest season are the months from Aril to July, with precipitation ac-counting for 40% of the annual total.
